to the left is a screenshot of Flash player in which I have made my own website.

My website

this is my website that I designed as a part of my unit 44. I created my website using Flash player. The website includes a home page, a page about me, a gallery which shows my favourite pieces of work and a contact page which shows where you can contact me. This first screen shot is my About page which is basically a short paragraph stating who I am and what I do.

This second screen shot is of my website home page which shows some of my favourite pieces of work.

This is my gallery page that i designed for my website. The gallery page shows my favourite pieces of work, when you click onto one the pieces of work it will come up larger in a new window with a small description of what the piece is.

The final screen shot shows my contact page which has my email address, facebook and twitter
accounts and a mobile phone number.

Trip to Brighton

On the 13th of March we visited Brighton for our Final Major Projects. We were asked to gather research relating to our project, so for my research i went around Brighton taking photos of nightclubs, bars and gathering any kind of information I could about nightclubs in the area.

I took some photos of the outside of nightclubs, focusing on the nightclub names and logos. I went round to various shops and bars looking at how nightclubs promote themselves, and found that the most common way of clubs promoting themselves was by billboards, flyers and the main way being social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter

I managed to pick up some leaflets and flyers that are advertising the club nights and I included these in my project, describing how they were made, how they promote the club and what is good and bad about the flyers.

Portfolio websites - Research

http://www.visualswirl.com/inspiration/designer-portfolio-website/

I like the lay out of this web page, I think that the work is laid out in a very balanced way and the type and illustration in the middle very much speak for itself. Its got a very old style, with a retro type for the heading.

http://visualrepublic.net

This web page is very much a type based website, as there is no visible imagery. The type is big and bold which gets the point across straight to the person viewing with no funny business. At the top of the website is a

Creating a button in Adobe Flash

Today we created a button in adobe flash player. We did this by opening Adobe Flash player and creating a new document. The first thing we did was create a button, by making a shape on the blank page  and converting it to a symbol. We went to a tab called modify then down to convert to symbol.

this is a screenshot of how to convert your button to a symbol.

here i am showing the changes i have made to the button in its layer and the states (up,down, over, hit) to have their own individual colour so they change when have interaction.

London/Borough Market trip

on thursday 19th of september, We went on a trip to Borough Market and Southbank in London. We arrived at 10.30 and met representatives of Borough Market, they gave us an information pack about the market and its history. After this we were taken down to the market where we were shown around and had some time to look around and take photographs for our project. We have to create a poster for the market so we had to collect as much research as possible.

After we went to borough market. We went and visited the Tate Modern and the Bankside gallery to look at different kinds of posters to help us with our research. We continued to walk along the South bank towards the skate park where there was lots of graffiti.
